Nikhil R. Jain
Founder/CEO

 

A serial entrepreneur with the mindset of a management consultant, Nikhil has helped his clients succeed through careful planning, analysis and execution. Nikhil has held the position of COO in a business advisory and management consulting firm where he advised clients in various industries such as hospitality, renewable energy, real estate, healthcare, financial services, nutrition and social networking and helped with funding requirements, private placements, business process redesign, business planning, devising marketing, business development and go-to-market strategies, mentoring entrepreneurs, structuring MBO's and LBO's and consulting to executive management. Nikhil has consulted to various Fortune 500 clients in industries such as retail, utilities, manufacturing, healthcare and helped with implementing multi-million dollar projects and advising on mergers and acquisitions.

This summer, Nikhil will be initiating his  Idea-2-Implementation log to give entrepreneurs an insight into Artilient Labs and how ideas are grown into companies which achieve the triple bottom line using the philosohpy of smart execution, frugality and community-driven synergies.

Nikhil currently sits on the Mentoring Committee of the Los Angeles Business Technology Center and the Executive Committee of the Caltech MIT Enterprise Forum. Nikhil has a BS in Electrical Engineering and an MBA in Finance from USC's Marshall School of Business.

Stan Holt
President/COO

Stanley Holt has been building online marketplaces for 14 years. As the VP of Publishing at his last two companies, Internet Brands and eHarmony, he managed more than 50 automotive, home, wedding and parenting sites. Those sites utilize content, tools and community to connect users and businesses.

Stan helped IB expand from a single ecommerce site, CarsDirect.com, into the world's largest network of automotive shopping and enthusiast sites, bringing together more than 12M monthly unique visitors and advertisers ranging from small vendors to the leading car and accessory manufacturers. At eHarmony, two of company's sites, ProjectWedding.com and Weddingbee.com, became the third-largest wedding network on the strength of organic traffic growth, matching more than a million users with 11,000 vendors.

Prior to that, Stan was the general manager of the Los Angeles Times' calendarlive.com. Stan has an M.B.A. from UCLA and holds a master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University. He also has a B.A. in urban affairs from Haverford College.

Erik Steeb
Vice President of Marketing & Business Development

Erik Steeb is currently the Vice President of Marketing & Business Development for OnGreen. With over 20 years leadership experience in high tech and cleantech, he is co-founder and managing partner of Segue Consulting Services and currently volunteers as the California Regional Director for Cleantech Open, a non-profit organization dedicated to find, fund and foster the most promising cleantech startups.

Over the last 20 years, Steeb has held senior level positions in high tech and cleantech businesses. In his director level roles in business development, marketing and sales with Intel Corp, he co-founded Intel’s alliances and business development organizations, lead Intel’s EMEA Marketing organization and most recently a worldwide sales organization delivering over $6B in annual revenue to the company.

Steeb holds a BSEE from the Georgia Institute of Technology and an MBA from UCLA’s Anderson School of Management.

Dr. Mark Allen Bernstein
Senior Cleantech Advisor

Dr. Bernstein is Managing Director of the University of Southern California’s Energy Institute and is also a Professor of the Practice of Political Science. As Managing Director Mark facilitates research across campus and works to engage government and corporate executives in discussions about energy and environmental research at USC. Mark’s research areas span across a broad range of issues in energy, environment, and water including financing efficiency and renewable energy, climate change policy, and technology diffusion.

Prior to USC, Mark spent 8 years as a Senior Policy Researcher at the RAND Corporation. During the 2001 energy problems in California, Mark advised the Speaker of the California State Assembly. At the end of 2005, Mark assisted the Housing Committee of the Mississippi Governors Commission on Reconstruction to develop recommendations for ensuring an adequate supply of quality and efficient affordable housing in the Gulf Coast region in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

Until June of 1998 Mark spent two years as the Senior Energy Policy Analyst for the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy in the Executive Office of the President. Mark worked on the Administration’s climate change technology strategy and helped to create a public-private partnership with the housing industry, the Partnership for Advancing Technologies in Housing.

Prior to working at OSTP Mark spent over three years in the Washington DC office of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory as Principal Energy Policy Analyst. Previously, Mark spent 7 years on the faculty of the University of Pennsylvania and as Director of the Center for Energy and the Environment. During this period Mark led USAID funded executive training programs for energy executives from developing countries. Training included executives from government ministries and companies, including countries in Southeast Asia and Africa and executives were immersed in tools and techniques for more efficiently planning and assessing energy and environmental opportunities. He also spent 2 years working for United Engineers and Constructors in the Advanced Engineering Department.

Mark has worked with a number of emerging and start-up companies and assisted them in developing strategies and market objectives. Mark has also consulted with number of established companies in various capacities including as well as nationally owned companies and governments including Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, Tanzania, Namibia and Ecuador.

Mark is a Board Member of Global Clean Energy Holdings. Mark holds a Ph.D. in Energy Management and Policy from the University of Pennsylvania and a Masters and Bachelors in Mathematics.

Mark Richards
CTO

Mark Richards has spent the last 15 years building the presence for some of the most recognizable Internet brands in the world. As CTO, Richards is responsible for OnGreen’s technical strategy, development, operations and expansion.

Prior to joining OnGreen, Richards spent 7 years with Fox Interactive Media as Vice President of Technical Operations overseeing marquee brands such as Hulu, Myspace, Fox Sports, and American Idol. Richards also spent 4 years at the Los Angeles Times as Director of Technology for their new media division.

Richards started his career in finance after graduating from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He resides in Orange, California with his family.
