Bioionix has made a fundamental breakthough in electrochemistry that enables the direct disinfection of very dirty liquids at high volumes and with extended operating times. The company has four issued U.S. patents, four pending U.S. patents, and three PCT international patent applications.
We use catalysts to take apart the water molecule to make very powerful oxygen-based disinfectants while activating any chlorine ions in the liquid to a powerful disinfecting state.
The process is fully developed and we have made large commercial installations in the meat processing and fresh-cut vegetable (bagged salad) industries.

Bioionix, Inc. manufactures a clean technology process to disinfect industrial water streams to permit their reuse. The patented Bioionix process uses platinum group catalysts to generate powerful reactive oxygen disinfectants directly from the water itself. This eliminates the need to use hazardous chemicals and allows the water to be reused with a facility for a longer period of time, saving water and energy.
The BioIonix product line is fully developed and commercial installations have already been made. The company's initial focus is on the food processing industry where considerable pain exists due to food safety product recalls, the high volumes of water used in processing, and the location of many food processing plants in areas of extreme water shortage. At the same time, Bioionix technology has potential applications in other major industries, such as oil and gas production, and these will be developed with funding from the current investment round.
Bioionix is raising a $3,000,000 investment round to rapidly grow its sales in the food processing equipment market and expand its presence into other major industries, such as oil and gas production. This investment is designed to bring us to cash flow positive at the end of 2012, with an attractive exit opportunity for shareholders expected at the end of 2013 or during 2014.

These include food processors such as meat and poultry processors, fresh-cut vegetable producers, and others that use water for washing or product temperature control.
Bioionix solves disinfection problems with industrial water streams, permitting their reuse for a longer period of time. Being a totally automated process, Bioionix eliminates the many problems associated with chemical disinfection alternatives, including the hazardous nature of concentrated chemicals and the uneven disinfection efficacy associated with supply and dispensing issues.
In the food industry, uneven microbial control can result in human illness, deaths, and the expensive recall of products, along with the loss of reputation and consumer confidence in a brand. In other industries, uneven chemical use can lead to serious environmental problems and water pollution.
