We are currently incorporating Zigbee communications within the receptacles and working on partnerships with the leading home energy management (HEM) software companies to deliver the standard for smart receptacles that will provide measurment & control of plug-in loads. The receptacles have already been UL and CSA approved with the intent of accomplishing electrical code adoption because of the safety features; Canada (2011) and the US (2014). HEM companies are excited about the advanced features such as plug & play and potential for advanced demand response capabilities provided by these receptacles and the associated RFID technology (RightPlug).
