Abstract:

The present invention is relates to the production of electricity by the integration of hydrolians (water turbines) in the flow of rivers. The disclose system allow the production of large quantity of electricity with close to no environmental impact. Some proposed arrangements also permit the regulation of the power production over a day, in order to supply more electricity at peak hours. An additional interest of our hydrolian station is its capacity to regulate the water level of river where needed.

Description:

We will first demonstrate that controlling the flow around an hydrolian is necessary to reach a good efficiency in energy harnessing. Thereafter we will show that complete control of the river flow will be very efficient, and will have no significative impact on ecology system. We will finally disclose a way to modulate river energy according to our peak hours needs.

Hydrolian station is a to large development project for Wind-Do Inc, the corporation of the inventor. This patent is for sale, but more realistically to share in regards of small royalties. Investors should be able to spend +/- 20 millions dollars in development to acheive this concept. The inventor may give some technical support.

Applications:

Hydrolian stations are a relatively low cost and non-invasive way to harness energy from the flow of a river. If we compare with barrage, we may say it will cost 1% of its investment, and produce 1% of its energy. With appropriate river, we may install one hundred stations in a row without dampening its flow. As hydrolian stations does not change the river level, and are not invasive, they may be install beside cities and villages, where electricity will be used.

Advantages:

The present invention possesses numerous benefits and advantages. Hydrolians harnessing station are not invasive, they will not damper ecosystem, and are barely invisible and noiseless. As cities and villages are generally close to a river, we will be able to produce clean and renewable energy close to where it will be used, reducing stress on the power grid. As some hydrolian station will be able to modulate their flow, they will help to compensate for the inconsistency of other renewable clean energy. Where it can be useful, hydrolian station can restrain water flow to keep water at appropriate level.
