While the world is abuzz with things happening in Copenhagen and media reports about 140 private planes and 1200 limos etc. producing estimated 41000 tonnes of CO2, I wanted to know what are people across the world doing on the ground.

Whenever a movement starts, there are some essential ingredients for long term success, they are political commitments, public policy, big media and little people. Sooner the little people start to do things for change, better are the chances of movement actually succeeding.

Being interested in Green Building movement, I came across a little site http://www.vibyor.com .

There is a little map on its home page to know where the users are coming from. Its interesting to note that there is a pattern emerging in terms of which countries the movement has taken roots, wherein students and engineers and researchers are trying to learn energy simulation to make buildings energy efficient. From the map, the effort to learn seems pretty strong in USA, India, China, middle east and western Europe.

There are queries coming in from Brazil to Indian users that Brazil is going down the same path as India and can they get copies of India's building energy efficiency code !! Similar is the example of people of Vietnam enquiring about energy simulation courses. Good News is that people in all these countries are working towards solutions in real terms. At the same, people are already helping those who are wanting to know more.

Copenhagen may go through disagreements and controversies in next 10 days, little people are doing what they can for the climate change.
