Surge in Green Tech IPO in the past year

According to Bloomberg Businessweek there are three times more Green Tech IPOs currently than there has been in the last year. Where wind and solar are at the forefront of this trend. The whole article is at Businessweek Report.

In the recent years we have seen a raise in VCs shifting their investment focus to either include green tech or singling out green tech to be the only thing they'd invest in, and with the growth of successful green companies going public this will not be a rising trend.

I think that similar to the HD-Blueray brawl we've seen in the last couple of years, some of the green techs will be filtered out to give room to the more popular choices. Makes people really wonder on which green technologies will survive and which ones will just be something we'll talk about in the years to come.
