Dear fellowmen & women,

Unshifting minds of 100-odd leaders, ill-defined texts, developing nations pushing under the wheels, split decisions, no grounds to deal, dark suits political leaders, seriously faced scientists, full of catastrophes, laggards’ policies, excuses of hyperboles, derisory offers, weightless economists, hopelessly incestuous skeptics, peer-view leaked e-mails, burrowing & pin-prick arguments, narrow straw with no penny-packets drafts, splashing ideas of short-term impact, ugly mish-mash, gritting teeth; saying nothing, verbal barrages, harder fox-pushing; stronger the resistance, heat waves of comments, droughts of thinkers & leaders, floods of media, hurricane of oscillating scientists, countless photographers, debt of ingratitude’s like “ditched us; collective exits; we will stand aside by the basic group; hide the decline” . . . . . . . . . .Gates close, euphoria rises, gates open; then close, up, open again . . . . .it might & it might not and it might and it might not . . . . . . .all for to unharm Kyoto protocol. . . . . Such has been the apparent willful over-sight of an important event of the 21st century and A GREAT MORAL FAILURE OF OUR GENERATION!! The whole Copenhagen scenario has been looking like a major climate war amongst the nations on the Panama Canal; close to two weeks, over than two minutes. A political warming than global warming.

The vague UNPCCC & Green thinkers have attempted to mount a winter solstice Nivea lip-care to their box of hopes & knowledge; but mere reduced to a college lectures. Christmas decrements for Mother Nature & a usual plum-cake for her children. The Copenhagen holiday is big enough to accommodate everyone but it’s definitely not a gate-crasher & not evens an evergreen Christmas tree at White House. Copenhagen’s hopes of success might not be the end of the beginning, but a beginning of the end at Bonn . . . . . times too move from Copenhagen to Bonn, reinforce C-Failure to B-Failure. Negative perceptions; but still the reality is positive; Mother Nature sustains her wicked world!! In all these grabs& traps, flummoxed Mother Nature continues to suffer at the notion of human-induced climate change “crapped”.

No more nobles’, but urge a consolation prize for Mr Obama for his commitment & multilateralism in ringing & bringing the leaders of the world on the common tottering UNPCCC orchestra, the world’s unfairest of the fairs to show-off international strength, even exceeded the Olympics, may be ‘Climate Olympics’ of Climate Pavilion Leaders.

For our economist PM, his reluctant journey started with a change of Aircraft. It sounds more than his reluctance. No question of Economics; just the highest point in the probability curve. Every scant leaders of the world should have shown climatic austerity by boarding bio-fuel engines like Rolls Royce Trent engines for their special aircrafts or boarded ‘Green Plane’-Boeing 737-700 & used cars powered by bio-fuels & electricity . . . . . . . with the diminishing playing maxim “FOR THE NEW ENERGY FUTURE WE NEED TO MAKE IT ALL ADD UP.” Hope the deal-breakers may impose, “a reverse cli-nesiasim” on policy-makers!! Hope the solar-powered plane of Mr Bertrand Piccard & Mr Andre Borschberg will take off in 2012.

For “Justly Proud” Mr Kevin Rudd, the Copenhagen gate has certainly opened the only gate to Mr Tony Albott for the 2010 elections as climate change election will fret the liberals out.

For Mr Rahul Gandhi, it’s more than cheers, as one of our rural-web surveys, Copenhagen Climate Fair will go down as one of the biggest crowd-pullers & media-pullers in India as 58.13% of rural Indian population has come to aware that, “Copenhagen is the capital city of a European nation, Denmark!!!” Rural India is converging with Urban India!!

These three questions always spur my self-conscious, “1> Have we lost our Mother Nature for the most vulnerable out there at Copenhagen? 2> didn’t Copenhagen display to a violation of the further canonical separation of developed & developing countries; irrespective of Science & Politics, never had been a good bedfellows? 3> With which statement do I most agree: protection of the Mother Nature should be given priority even at the risk of curbing economic growth or economic growth has priority even if Mother Nature suffers to some extent?”

Taking a leaf of growth & sustainability from Sir Dennis Meadows ‘Limits of Growth’ , “but if you don’t behave any differently when you go out of here, it won’t make any difference. WE HAVE REACHED AN INFLEXION POINT. THE HABITS THAT GAVE US GROWTH & PROGRESS IN THE PAST WILL NOT GIVE US GROWTH & PROGRESS IN THE FUTURE. We will see more change over the next 20 years than in the past 100. Science & technology are necessary but not sufficient o their own. Sustainability is not about technology, it’s about attitude.”

It is therefore likely to persist unless mankind starts to behave differently—and there is not much of sign of that happening. “THE RISK WE SINK THIS PLANET IS ONE IN THREE----we have a very small window of opportunity, but if we fail to use this window, we will have the consequences for thousands of years. R & D process needs two other D’s to be effective: Demonstration & diffusion. We can see the kinds of technology & we can see the economic instruments. WHAT’S MISSING IS POLITICAL WILL! We need dialogue not polarization . . . . . it’s not just about explaining science, it is understanding what society is worried about. The world needs to agree that we are going to handle the climate change problems; but the world hasn’t agreed on that.

Opportunities galore for the abating thirsty green entrepreneurs, MNC’s to look forward to renewable energy market, bio-energy market, clean-coal market, carbon-exchange market, environmental technology market & low carbon-technology innovator.

Unlike teetering Mr Silvio Berlusconi, it’s MY TIME TO SAY ADDIO & ALVIDA TO COPENHAGEN as rising rice price hasn’t yet fallen & will have to keep watching the rice-cooker. Of course, the over-whelming pressure is to something fast; something gripes & mopes.

Regards,
Vijay Y.
