24 hour fitness has recently announced that it will start using finger scans for member verification to enter into their gyms. They say that it will decrease member fraud and is also a way go green.

Do you really think that they meant that they are going green or was it just something that the PR person came up with in order to win public acceptance?

Off the top of my head, while stopping the excessive use of plastic is a good thing, this could have easily been accomplished by simply having an online database of members and then just checking any legit form of id. Just seems like an infinitely easier way to go about business.
