Biography
Carmenza has a background in marketing, advertising and international business. She is also an entrepreneur with a special curiosity for different cultures, respect for the environment, and compassion towards fellow human beings. A native of Colombia currently residing in Vermont, Carmenza has worked for top multinational advertising agencies, directing large projects in multiple countries across South America. In the United States, she resumed her career working on the Hispanic team of The Integer Group in Colorado, supporting Coors Light.
Carmenza and her husband, Sean, had a dream of creating a business that would help people while caring for the planet. They founded Fair Share, LLC, and began importing Café Yuluka –a delicious organic, fairly traded, shade-grown coffee produced by the Arhuaco indigenous peoples of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Colombia. Nowadays Café Yuluka is sold in various organic grocery stores in Colorado and the Northeast, through Clean Green Guy, and on their own website. Carmenza also serves as a volunteer for Orangutan Outreach –a non-profit organization that protects, rescues and rehabilitates orangutans in Indonesia– and for the University of New Hampshire’s Cooperative Extension/Department of Natural Resources and the Environment in a project to help New Hampshire’s seafood industry direct-market locally-caught seafood.
Carmenza recognizes that to be able to better support her environmental and social endeavors, it is imperative that she explores new channels to create more awareness of the issues at play. At Clean Green Guy, Carmenza will be contributing her writing, marketing and advertising skills, and her international perspective to make it more diverse and meaningful. Carmenza shall also be writing and maintaining her log titled: Doing well while Doing Green.
Carmenza has a bachelors degree in marketing and advertising from the Universidad Politenico Grancolombiano in Bogota, and a graduate degree in international business and capital markets with emphasis in international trade from the Universidad Externado de Colombia in partnership with New York's Columbia University.
